Warmer Weather

Well, the cold kept you all at home yesterday (I know having two days off of school in a row was really difficult for all of you), but tomorrow looks like it should be perfect weather for tubing. If you haven’t signed up, that’s okay just print off a slip from below and come tomorrow with $15 and warm clothes.

Day Off!!

Hey everybody that has a day off of school today: Have a great day off! Reminder to Middle School students, if you’re going to badlands be sure to sign up or let me know tomorrow. (still come if you didn’t sign up, but signing up makes life so much easier). And High School students, get me your registration for the ski/snowboard trip to Trollhaugen on February 16th. Perspective

Like many of you I’m sure, I watched the Packer game last night. Like many of you, I’m sure I was less than thrilled by the outcome. My good friend Seth Welle, however, brought a good perspective to the game. He said “Well, the sun will still come up tomorrow, and if it doesn’t then we have bigger problems than a Packer loss.” I hope that you are able to share his outlook. I hope and pray that we don’t come close to loosing the joy that is ours in Christ because some guys who get paid a lot to run around with a hunk of inflated leather didn’t “pull it off”. What a great opportunity to remember that all of the things of this world, Super Bowl rings and NFC championship trophies included will one day fade, or rust or burn. When that happens, will we be ashamed at the time and energy that we spent on things so worthless, or will we be able to look back and know that we did not waste our lives, but spent them knowing and loving God; helping others to find their satisfaction only and totally in Jesus Christ? I hope last nights inconsequential loss will push us more towards spending our lives well.

Hey High School Students! Mark your calendars for February 16th. Seven area churches are all taking a trip to Trollhaugen ski area for skiing, snowboarding and tubing. We’ll leave at 1:00 and be back around 10:30. Stay tuned for more information.
